PowerDNS Recursor 4.7.6, 4.8.5 and 4.9.1 Released

Aug 25, 2023

Today we have released PowerDNS Recursor 4.7.6, 4.8.5 and 4.9.1.

These releases are maintenance releases that fix a few bugs. The most important ones are:

  • The setting of policy tags for packet cache hits has been fixed. Previously, packet cache hits would not contain policy tags set in the Lua gettags(-ffi) intercept functions.
  • The retrieval of RPZ zones could fail in situations where a read of the chunk length from the IXFR TCP stream would produce an incomplete result.

There are also a few other bug fixes, please refer to the changelogs  (4.7.6, 4.8.5 and 4.9.1) for additional details.

Please send us all feedback and issues you might have via the mailing list, or in case of a bug, via GitHub.

The tarballs (4.7.6, 4.8.5, 4.9.1) (with signature files 4.7.6, 4.8.5, 4.9.1) are available from our download server and packages for several distributions are available from our repository.

We are grateful to the PowerDNS community for the reporting of bugs, issues, feature requests, and especially to the submitters of fixes and implementations of features.
