The PowerDNS team has just returned from Light Reading’s Network X Americas event in Dallas, Texas. Previously known as Big 5G, Network X Americas brings together representatives from the mobile, fiber and cable sectors to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and solutions.
The success of PowerDNS’ presence in Network X Americas counterpart in Europe convinced us to attend this year's show in Irving, Texas from May 21 to May 23. And it was worth it!
Network X Americas’ focus was the progressive fade-out of the 3G and 4G networks in favor of the new 5G networks of North American operators, and how the billions invested could be monetized. In addition, private 5G and Open RAN networks, as well as the transformation to cloud-native environments, cybersecurity, and generative AI, were also key topics.
These topics naturally brought us to the forefront of discussions. With our UE Edge DNS solution, our cloud-native deployment option PowerDNS Cloud Control, and our partnership with some of the telcos at the show, we had many deep discussions. From elastic scaling to deep integrations to network security, the PowerDNS crew helped attendees envision solutions – many that they had never considered.
As we were having great technical discussions, we also had some great coffee. A popular choice on the exhibition floor, the PowerDNS barista, Olive Coffee Cart, kept us all caffeinated and alert, and did their part to help us plan out the future of DNS for many telcos from the US, Canada, Mexico, and other countries.
We would like to thank all the people we met and who stopped by our booth for the interesting and thought-provoking discussions. We also congratulate the Network X team on another successful event!
And, as we leave the Lone Star State and head back towards our Dutch windmills, we are pleased to announce that PowerDNS will be attending Network X Europe later this year (October 8-10, in Paris, France). If the meetings and discussions we have there are as exciting as those we’ve just had in Dallas, we have a lot to look forward to.
