PowerDNS DNSdist 1.9.8 released

Written by Remi Gacogne | Dec 17, 2024 1:20:38 PM

We released PowerDNS DNSdist 1.9.8 today, fixing several issues:

  • Caching of responses with an EDNS Client Subnet scope set to zero was broken if the corresponding queries had been received over DNS over HTTPS

  • The balancing factors of weighted and consistent hashing policies could not be reset to their initial values
  • The Lua hook invoked when a new TLS session ticket key is set did not properly handle null characters

A few improvements were also made:

  • Lua functions can now access the elapsed time since a query was received (many thanks to phonedph1)
  • It's now possible to load a TLS session ticket key from memory, without having to write it to a file

  • Error messages have been improved when trying to update a custom metric

Please see the DNSdist website for the changelog and the current documentation.

Please send us all feedback and issues you might have via the mailing list, or in case of a bug, via GitHub.

The release tarball and its signature are available on the downloads website, and packages for several distributions are available from our repository.
